Now, a moment of panic/amusement

Some time ago I was among the seven (there WERE seven of us, right?) guys representing La Salle Green Hills in a series of interschool contests for this PCPGE ecology week thing. All of us were from class IV-A, each guy the representative for a different contest. My contest was the english oratorical contest, and last thursday it took place in Ateneo.

Of course I took the time to prepare my speech and practice for this. Memorizing and orating a 5-7 minute speech isn't easy.

Well, after the first half of school that day, I dressed up, and left La Salle for the fun.

There were 14 contestants altogether, our particular schools not mentioned during the contest for the sake of eliminating any biased decisions, I'd guess. Some of them were...okay. But the others were good. I had some tough competition. Our order of presenting our speeches was random, done via drawing of lots. I was 5th.

When my turn came, I strutted up to the stage confidently, and started my speech strong.

Halfway through my sp...

4A&4B's DLSU Campus Tour - September 29, 2008

A bit late. What the hell. Last monday, the two senior Honors' sections got a field-trip tour of the De La Salle University-Manila's campus. The first, and, in all likelihood, last, priveledge we've ever really gotten. Oh well. Haha. 'Twas fun.

Day started in school, we boarded the bus at about 8-something, got there at about 9-something, then sat down for a while to...err...get our bearings. Then were split up into several touring group - Ms Mary-Arr and Ms Yky were both in our group XD. And, interestingly enough, our tour guide Jessa was once a member of Cue - she was in Aida! Haha. Once we were all split up, we went off for the happy happy joy joy.

The campus was cool. Yeah, not all of it were as nifty as they might initially make it out to be, but the gardens were nice, the walkways quaint, the people generally friendly. Its not as wide as, say, ADMU or UP, but that's cause a lot of the classes are in these buildings that go waaay up. So we spent as much time going up and dow...

It's a funny story, acually...

I found my watch.

Oh, how dear life just LOVES to make fun of us. Haha. Couple of nights ago I blogged about how my watch disappeared and how i was oh-so-pathetic that day in school without it.

About forty seconds had passed after i had posted said blog when my eldest sister ate Chiquit passed by and caught a glimpse of the computer screen.

[flashback]

Her: Oooooooooh. *oggling at mine wonderful coffee layout*
Me: Yeah. Coffee.
Her: *gawking*
Me: Hmm. Here, read my blog while i do my math homework.
..20 seconds later..
Her: You lost a watch...?
Me: Yeah, it sucks.
Her: Hmmm. Wait a sec. *walks off to room*
Me: *stalks her to her room. spots my watch on her desk.* WTF!? YOU had it?
Her: *shrug*
Me: how the hell!?
Her: I dunno, it just looked pretty, so I took it.

[/flashback]

Eh. Well. Yeah.

Anyways, last night, my mom gave me a new watch for 'saturday wear', she called it. Such timing. 'Twas a digital watch, this time. A Nike. With a stopwatch and light and weather shiz and calendar shiz and a whole bun...

Well, this kinda sucks.

So. I had this wristwatch that I pretty much adored. It was a Raymond Weil with a nifty black leather strap and a shiny round face and roman numerals. Gotta love them roman numerals. It was a gift. And I believe it came from Switzerland or something. In a box, too. I loved that watch. I used to compare it with Delfin's. Mine was prettier.

A few days ago, I lost that watch.

Which truly, really, absolutely SUCKS. I just turned to my bedside table one day (my watch owned that bedside table) and it wasn't there where it always sat. Haaaai. I've been looking for it around the house. I haven't been lucky.

Today I went to school without it. And dear gahd, I was so absolutely pathetic.

I didn't know what time I came to school.

I couldn't tell whether to do my accounting-office-UA&P-application shiz first or my physics-long-test shiz first, because I couldn't get any reference to the time.

I was troubled with my time allocation for the problems in that said physics long test.

Nor could I proper...

The 4th Backdoor Ventures Arts and Music Festival

August 29, 2008. A friday with fairly fine weather.

So. Day starts with school. Music presentation #4 (original compositions) and we end up with a 93. Boooooo. Everyone seems to be complaining about the results of this one. Anyways, we school wrapped up 12:30, an early dismissal cause of gawad parangal. and maybe because the teachers were expecting us to go home and study for the exams coming next week...

except Luis and I didn't.

We hopped over to SM and met up with Vie and Maia for the Arts festival. Had lunch in Pizza Hut first, ordering the same thing for everybody. Vida hogged the menus XD. Then when we were upstairs we got approached by some people from TV-5 and asking us to say something in front of the camera. Something about shaking the TV. Maia chickened out (dangit Maeeeeeeya XD) but the rest of us...err...consented...anyway. We're gonna be on tv, haha. So don't watch tv ;)

So we finally arrived at the venue, and all the paintings and sculptures and stuff were th...

Delfin's 16th birthday celebration

Sorely pathetic compared to jed's album, i know. But what the heck. :P

After the monday-during-a-friday schoolday, christian, jed, marvin, ralph, nico and i rode to greenhills to buy a cake for del. apparently Virra Mall's gotten some renovations since i was last there 7 years-or-something ago.

then went to club filipino to hang around and stuff. there wasn't a dance floor, unfortunately, so not much to do. XD But the cake was good. and the chicken. and the cake.

Happy birthday,

Well...

Sige, I admit (obvious naman eh) that I've been very angry lately. And frustrated. And whiny. Mood swings, eh. They come and go and do stuff to me. Trouble with the head, y'know what I'm saying?

I ask for your patience. I'm a teenager, I'm a real angsty one, and I've got issues.
Daughtry Live at Eastwood - July 29, 2008

Now, the eve of this particular Tuesday, there were some issues about me attending this concert. I was sick, I had three long tests to study for, and I had a filipino presentation the next day.

My reaction was simple: Who CARES if I was sick, had three long tests to study for, and had a filipino presentation the next day!?

This was Chris Daughtry.

I've been a fan a while. That, and I already had the tickets.

I went with my cousin and sister all hyped up and bla, and it took us awhile to find our seats (a funny story which involved us winding up in the VIP area, right in front of the stage, the poor ushers were clueless about our seats), and the concert started about an hour late.

But then the concert started. And everybody was screaming, and I was like trying to scream too, but doing so ended up killing me. The hell, I screamed anyway.

Chris and his band rocked, of course. Performance level was high, the lighting was brilliant, and there was audience interaction. And ...

The first 'actual' meeting of Cue Drama Club this year. The new rehearsal room has no more big wall mirror (sad) but is bigger, i think. 4 aircons, too.

Didn't bother taking too many pictures. never liked this camera much anyway. =P

good to be back in any case.

The Sandman vol. 2 The Doll's House

"It means that we’re just dolls. We don’t have a clue what’s really going down, we just kid ourselves that we’re in control of our lives while a paper’s thickness away things that would drive us mad if we thought about them for too long play with us, and move us around from room to room, and put us away at night when they’re tired, or bored."

Once again, I find that the Sandman comics of Neil Gaiman do things to my head. They make me think. They make me wonder. They give me insights, some of which I am pleased to get, and others I am not.

The stories told in the volume are nothing short of interesting. Serial killers’ conventions and kingdoms of dreams thrown in together make one heckuva work of art. I’m not too fond of the styles of art, but the colors and atmospheres do help the whole thing come alive. And when it does, it’s fantastic.

This volume is the work of a genius. I’ll say that much. A world of its own, that’s what it is.

"Sweet

Thoughts at 11:56 PM

So stuff happens and life goes, because that's how the world runs, like it or not.

Katatapos ng review classes (thank you, KP4a-08!), and pressure's on with the college bla, and the courses bla, and school's starting soon, and I've yet to wrap my books, procrastinator that I am. So, what's new?

I've recently gotten into some new things, as 60G Playstation3's just seem to be extinct round here and I can't get a hold of one and see what the big deal is. I have gotten serious about reading Neil Gaiman's Sandman graphic novels.

Death has the body of a model, the clothes of a poet, and the smile of your best friend.

And she rocks. Everything has to come to an end, eh? And when it does, you meet her. And she takes your hand. And off you go.

It really isn't all that bad.

As for the rest of her family, just like life/death, you can hate or love them. But that won't matter. Because they'l still be there. As long as people live, die, dream, desire, despair, destroy, or delight, they'll hang around. Al...

CROSS Chapter 1

The most conspicuous part about starting a new novel had to be comparing it with my first. The biggest contrast was in genre - AEON Book 1 is a fantasy fiction novel, very videogamish; CROSS is set in the modern world and time. I think my writing style and voice didn't change much with handling each of them, but even in the same light, novels of different genres will be different.

Still, I don't think either is worse than the other, but that is ultimately up to who's reading. I'm putting this up in the hope of getting some feedback. If you have the time to read this, enjoy and comment.
===

CROSS

PROLOGUE

3:00 PM. The last period’s bell finally rang. It was Friday, and I was so glad to get out of school. I had to admit, all things considered, it was a nice day. I said goodbye to Ben and Leyla, hopped on my bike, and began riding home.

3:15. By some stroke of the devil’s luck, my bike broke. The wheel fell apart from the frame, and I scraped myself on the pavement. So much f...

Not much else to say, eh? Go to New York and watch this. Don't die before you

I wonder

So we're all back home.

I got my report card, and am not pleased with the grades. We're getting our house renovated; the furniture all around has been misplaced, and so have the paintings. Our guitar and piano are out of tune. I have been unable to greet people birthdays. I want a Playstation3 for my own.

But well, life's like that.

And I wonder what to do now.

As always, have a nice day.
US Trip. 2nd Week - New York, San Francisco

April 4 - April 11. continued from the other album.

Anyways, the plane ride wasn't so bad, we watched Enchanted and spent a few minutes pitying James Marsden before landing. Checked in at the Belvedere.

We were back in New York! Ah, good to be home. ^__^

Night afterwards, we watched WICKED at the Gershwin. Incredible show, Stephanie J Block and Annaleigh Ashford as Elphie and Glinda. Yeah. Gottaloveit. Gottalovebroadway.

Couple of days were spent hanging around and doing different stuff. Went to the Museum of Modern art (i still don't get much of the blue thing, laboh talaga O_o), and the UN place, and the wax museum with all the celebrities and bla.

Tuesday, ate chiq and i got to watch PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. That's THE Broadway show to watch. 20 effin' years. The show was incredible (duh) except Phantom was really emo, and it was weird when he started talking about fighting AIDS and buying cookbooks after the show. Uh...yeah.

After NYC, we flew back to the west and sp...

US Trip. 1st Week - Arizona, Las Vegas

March 29 - April 4. I will capitalize highlights, which means the shows.

The plane ride was psychologically disturbing for multiple reasons. I got to watch Beowulf on the plane, but for the rest of the 1 hours stuck there, not much else. Dropped by in Vancouver to pick up my sister's boyfriend, then we headed down to Las Vegas. Checked in at Planet Hollywood.

Drove five hours to Grand Canyon the next day, and it so freaking cold there. Couldn't feel my hands. Or face. Really, it was really really cold. Like, very cold. Anyways, the big hole on the ground was a pretty sight. Drove back to las Vegas (five more hours in the car, oh joy) and passed by Hoover Dam the very next day.

That night four of us watched the shows STOMP OUT LOUD, a really nifty percussion show. It was good fun - turns out slamming garbage cans together can be amusing for an hour and a half. The sounds and rhythm were unbelievably addicting.

Days that followed were spent hopping from hotel to hotel. Mga i...

Gonna be gone for two weeks, headed to Las Vegas, Arizona (cuz they wanna see that big hole on the ground), New York, and San Francisco. Everybody have fun while I'm freezing out there!

To those who know what I'm talking about...

Yeah, so I finally finished it. Close to two hundred pages, over a whole year, possibly one of my proudest achievements - though I've probably said it enough already. Haha.

Vie, Luis - thanks for the help you offered. ;) Trust you guys.

To everybody who doesn't understand what I'm talking about, never you mind now. :P

I wanted to get it done before I left for the states (BYE GUYS!) and so thar. Now I'll recover myself from the radiation of the laptop. Smell the roses and have a good day.
3E Class Night - Mar. 13-14, 2008

Yeah, a bit late, but oh well.

School finally ended Thurs. afternoon (hallelujah) and we gathered mga 2 pm in separate cars to travel to Laguna. Kerish, Marc, Gerard, Keith and Rano and I got to Alfa 3 Resort first, and soon afterwards everyone else came in.

First day was spent swimming, karaokeing, playstationing, vanityshooting, eating, throwing Gelo into the pool. The usual stuff. Ended up sleeping at 3. I got 4 hours of sleep, hurrah.

Breakfast started the second day, tapos we had this session thingy of confessing stuff to each other, wearing blindfolds that really were useless after all that. Lunch came, then we got ready to go. That was pretty much it.

3E! Thanks for the year, guys, 'twas

Opening Night - LSGH Prom

Weeks of buildup, and then this. Yep.

Picked Maia up at 6, got to La Salle by 7:10, met up with Luis and Vida and Angelo and Belay, and yeah, it was mostly the six of us hanging out that evening. Fun. Didn't see enough familiar people, though, but I know you guys were there. ;)
